They include Sean Banks, 25, of Englewood, a 2003 Bergen Catholic High School graduate who was also a basketball star at the University of Memphis and then played in the NBA’s New Orleans Hornets organization. Another of the accused is Jerry Montgomery, 29, of Teaneck, suspected of being a member of the Bergen County burglary syndicate known as the “James Bond Gang.” Montgomery, Banks and Aasim Boone, 28 of Englewood and Akeem Boone, 26, of Englewood are accused of burglarizing two homes, in Sparta and Jefferson Township, said Sparta police Sgt. John-Paul Beebe. Jewelry and other valuables were recovered from the getaway vehicle, a black 2003 Chevrolet Trail Blazer. The incident began around 10:15 pm Friday, when police pulled over the SUV for speeding, Beebe said. When the officer approached, the driver, Aasim Boone, drove off, fleeing nearly a mile at speeds up to 90 mph before the SUV struck a curb, flipped, and rolled, Beebe said.
